Komodo National Park - Part 1

Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consisting of numerous islands, with the largest being Komodo, Padar, and Rinca.

The best way to explore the park is by joining a tour. Various tour packages are available, and we opted for a one-day private boat tour that covers all the must-see attractions. This tour allows ample time to fully enjoy each stop.

Our first destination was Padar Island, which takes approximately 1–2 hours to reach from Labuan Bajo, depending on the boat's speed. This is the longest ride of the entire tour.

For the best panoramic view of Padar Island, a hiking trail leads to a vantage point offering a stunning 360-degree perspective. The scenery from the top is truly breathtaking.

From this point, only the black sand beach is clearly visible

The hiking trail is well-maintained at the beginning, but as you climb higher, it becomes more rugged and worn.

The view along the hike is nothing short of spectacular. With each step, the landscape unfolds, revealing dramatic hills, rugged cliffs, and the contrast of turquoise waters against the unique-colored beaches. The higher you climb, the more breathtaking the scenery becomes, making every effort worthwhile.

As you ascend the trail, the second beach, with its stunning pink hue, gradually becomes more visible, adding to the island's mesmerizing landscape.

The iconic view of Padar Island showcases its three distinct beaches—black, pink, and white—perfectly framed in a single breathtaking panorama, with a fourth beach subtly peeking into the scene.
