Sakurai Futamigaura White Torii Gate at Sunset | Itoshima Beach, Japan

The sun hung low upon the horizon, lingering just long enough for me to reach the shore.
There, standing before me, was a white gate — a steadfast guardian of the ocean’s endless breath.
Beyond it, two islands rested apart, yet bound together by a single line of rope,
a fragile thread that seemed to speak of something eternal.

Here, nature and human hands stood side by side,
not in contest, but in perfect accord.
The gate did not intrude upon the beauty before it;
instead, it framed it, honored it,
lifting the scene into something even more profound.

It was a gentle reminder —
that when humankind creates with reverence for the earth,
its works need not diminish the wild grace of nature,
but can harmonise with it,
and in doing so, make its beauty sing louder.
