Number 16 Beach, also known as Number Sixteen Beach, is a secluded coastal gem near Rye on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Renowned for its dramatic rock formations—such as the striking Dragon Head and Lizard Rock—it’s a favourite among photographers and nature enthusiasts.

Best visited at low tide, the beach reveals rock pools and rugged reefs ideal for exploration and fishing. However, the rocks can be slippery, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

Accessed via a sandy trail and steep stairs from a small car park off Tasman Drive, the beach is part of the Mornington Peninsula National Park and forms a segment of the 26 km Coastal Walk between Cape Schanck and Sorrento.
