The Petrified Forest at Cape Bridgewater, located within Victoria's Discovery Bay Coastal Park, is a captivating geological formation resembling a forest of stone. Despite its name, these structures are not fossilized trees but are actually "solution pipes"—hollow limestone tubes formed over millions of years. Rainwater percolated through sand dunes, dissolving the underlying limestone and cementing the sand into hard, trunk-like columns. These formations can reach up to 20 meters in height and are easily accessible via a short walk from the Blowholes Road car park.

Visitors can enjoy an 800-meter return trail that offers stunning views of the unique landscape, as well as nearby attractions like the Cape Bridgewater Blowholes. The area is also home to a colony of Australian fur seals and features some of Victoria's highest coastal cliffs, making it a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and geology buffs alike.
